Higham and Rushden

Country Dancing

We meet fortnightly at the Higham Ferrers Working Men’s Club on Mondays between 2 and 3.30. We do not meet during August. The group is very sociable and new members are very welcome. All dances are walked through so beginners will be able to manage. Once a term we usually have a party afternoon with live music which is always popular. During December the group gets together for a Christmas dinner followed by dancing: nothing too strenuous. During the summer if there is sufficient interest we have a group walk followed by a cream tea, usually on a Sunday: a very sociable event. The hall we use is very spacious so there is lots of room for dancing. Most of the group are ladies so a few more men would be appreciated: two left feet not an excuse!!! Whatever style of dancing one prefers, and many are available, a benefit is helping to keep fit whatever age you are. We try and keep things light-hearted but aim to improve the dancers' skills. Some of our dancers have become very experienced over the years and this helps the newer dancers.
